Senior Materials Scientist - Graphene Synthesis

Full-time Guelph, ON R&D

Lead the development and optimization of CVD graphene synthesis processes. You'll work on scaling our proprietary production methods while maintaining the exceptional quality that defines 6phene materials. This role is critical to our mission of delivering industrial-scale graphene with laboratory-grade properties.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or related field
  • 5+ years experience with CVD or other graphene synthesis methods
  • Deep understanding of 2D materials characterization (Raman, SEM, TEM, AFM)
  • Experience with process scale-up from lab to pilot production
  • Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals preferred
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

What You'll Do

  • Optimize CVD parameters for defect-free monolayer graphene production
  • Develop novel functionalization techniques for application-specific materials
  • Lead a team of research associates and lab technicians
  • Collaborate with defense and energy sector partners on R&D projects
  • Contribute to patent portfolio and technical publications

Process Engineer - Graphene Composite Manufacturing

Full-time Guelph, ON Manufacturing

Design and implement manufacturing processes for our graphene-enhanced composite products. You'll bridge the gap between R&D and production, ensuring our advanced materials can be manufactured at scale while meeting stringent quality standards for defense and industrial applications.

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years experience in composite materials or advanced manufacturing
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (ISO 9001, AS9100)
  • Experience with process automation and control systems
  • Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma methodologies preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment

What You'll Do

  • Design and optimize graphene dispersion and integration processes
  • Develop SOPs for composite manufacturing operations
  • Implement quality control protocols and testing procedures
  • Scale pilot processes to production-ready manufacturing lines
  • Work with supply chain to qualify raw materials and vendors
