The Material

What is it?

Graphene is a single layer of carbon atoms arranged in a two-dimensional honeycomb lattice. It is the basic building block for other graphite materials but possesses miraculous properties on its own.

Why does it matter?

It is the strongest material ever tested (200x stronger than steel), the best conductor of heat and electricity, and nearly transparent. It has the potential to revolutionize batteries, computing, and construction.

When was it found?

While theorized for decades, it was first isolated in 2004 at the University of Manchester, earning Geim and Novoselov the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2010.

Who We Are

We are a team of engineers and nanotechnology specialists building the bridge between graphene research and commercial reality. Founded by Kavan Kissoon (CEO) and Santiago Escobar (Nanotechnology Engineer, M.Sc.), 6Phene Inc. combines deep materials science expertise with advanced manufacturing engineering.

Why We Exist

To eliminate the cost barrier that has kept graphene in the lab. Our proprietary R2R LIG process achieves a 10–40x cost reduction over traditional CVD methods — making commercial-scale graphene composites finally viable.

Leads corporate strategy, manufacturing engineering, and commercialization. Architected the R2R LIG pilot line and built 6Phene's supplier network with DuPont, Toray, and Coherent.

Directs materials science R&D and process optimization. Leads substrate validation and graphene composite development for ballistic, aerospace, and sports applications.
